An email conversion rate is the number of conversions a campaign brought in divided by the number of emails delivered, shown as a percentage. Type your delivered count where the calculator asks for visitors, and your orders, signups or calls as conversions. The rate updates as you type and shows to two decimal places. Add what one conversion is worth and it also shows the estimated revenue.
Which number goes in each box
- Visitors: the emails delivered, from your campaign report. Mailchimp's reports call this Email deliveries, the number of emails delivered to your recipients' inboxes.
- Conversions: the orders, signups or calls the email brought in.
- Value per conversion: optional. Add what one order or signup is worth to see the estimated revenue.
Mailchimp's email order rate uses the same base. It's the percentage of successfully delivered emails that resulted in an order. Use your delivered count so your rate matches the way Mailchimp works it out.
To see how many people bought after clicking, put clicks in the visitors box instead. That gives you a click-to-conversion rate. It runs higher than the rate per email delivered because it only counts the people who clicked.
What the calculator doesn't work out
It does one division at a time and doesn't connect to Mailchimp or any other email platform, so you copy the numbers in from your report. It doesn't work out open rate or ROI. Mailchimp's click rate is the percentage of delivered emails that registered at least one click, so you can get it here by typing clicks as conversions.
The revenue is your conversions multiplied by the value you typed. It's an estimate and won't match the attributed revenue your email platform reports.
Metric definitions are from Mailchimp's custom report metrics help page, read in October 2026.
