1Taking on a new site

Know who you're really up against.

You've got a list of rivals in your head, and search often disagrees. We check who shows up for the searches your customers make, and add the sites already sharing your rankings. You'll know who you're really up against before you plan a page.

  • Rivals found from your customers' searches
  • Their keywords and traffic beside yours
  • A line on why each one made the list

2The rival list

Plan against real businesses.

You've run a keyword tool and watched G2, Reddit and a news site top your rival list. Here they're flagged before they count, and they stay in view, unticked. You'll plan against real businesses, and one tap puts back any you disagree with.

  • Directories, marketplaces and news sites flagged
  • Two checks on each homepage: same offer, same buyer
  • One tap puts back a rival you know is real

3When they ask how you compare

Know where you stand in one line.

You've guessed where you sit against them. Your site is measured on the same figures and sits in the same table, with one line that says where you rank, like 6th of 6. When a client asks how they compare, you'll have the answer.

  • Your site in the same table, marked You
  • Your traffic beside the rival median
  • Plain words when your numbers are still zero

You rank 6th of 6 on authority. searchblueprint.io has no measurable link authority yet, which is normal for a new site.

4The site above you

See the searches they win and you don't.

You've looked at the site above you and wondered what it ranks for. The rivals you keep are where your keyword ideas come from: what they rank for, which page ranks, and whether you show up at all. You'll pick from searches already working for a business like yours.

  • Which of their pages ranks, and where
  • Not Ranked, where you don't show up yet
  • How often each one is searched, and how hard it is

5The spreadsheet nobody opens

Know which page each search belongs on.

You've had a gap list sit in a spreadsheet because nobody knew where each search belonged. Every keyword you confirm goes to one page, one you have or one to build, and no two pages share a main keyword. You'll know what to write and where it goes.

  • A page you have, or a new one to build
  • No two of your pages chasing one search
  • Pages to build, biggest search first

And the small stuff, handled

  • Per market. Each market you pick gets its own rivals and numbers.

  • Giants marked as giants. A site many times your size is tagged Much larger than you.

  • Wrong country, caught. If your site looks like it serves another market, you're offered the switch.

  • A reason on every pick. Each suggested rival says why it's there, in plain words.

  • Free to try. The free competitor analysis shows any site's top three rivals, no signup.

Questions people ask

How is this different from a keyword gap tool?

A gap tool compares you with whatever sites you type in. Here your rivals are found from the searches your customers make and checked first, then you see what they rank for. The gaps land on pages in your keyword map.

Who counts as a competitor?

A site that sells what you sell, that your customer would pick instead of you. Showing up for the same words isn't enough, so directories, marketplaces and news sites get flagged.

What if a real competitor is missing?

Type their site in and add it. If the whole list looks off, the market or your business description is usually the cause. Fix it and run the list again.

Why does a big rival's traffic look so high?

It's an estimate of traffic to their whole site, across every search they rank for. A national brand really does dwarf a local one, so read it as a direction and don't lean on the exact figure.

Can I try it without an account?

Yes. Setup finds your competitors before you create an account, and the free competitor analysis runs on any site with no signup.

Can I check more than one market?

Yes, up to five. Each market is researched on its own, so rivals and numbers can differ between them.
