How to use the word counter

Three sentences say "SEO audit" three times, so one in eight words is "seo". That is fine for a blurb about SEO audits and heavy for anything else. The character count includes the spaces, which is how most forms count.
How the counts work
- Words are runs of letters, digits, apostrophes and hyphens, so "don't" and "long-tail" each count as one word. It reads English letters only: an accented letter splits a word in two, so counts for other languages run high.
- Characters count every character you pasted, spaces and line breaks included.
- Sentences are counted at each full stop, question mark or exclamation mark. Text with none of them counts as one sentence.
- Reading time assumes 200 words a minute and rounds to the nearest minute. Anything under a minute shows as <1 min.
- Top keywords skip common words such as "the", "and" and "your", so the list shows the words that carry your meaning.
