How to connect WordPress

The setup guide, in full

Word for word what the connect form asks, in the order it asks. Nothing here wants your WordPress password — the credentials below are ones you create and can revoke.

   What's your WordPress URL?

   Enter your site address to get started.

   Which user should posts belong to?

   The WordPress username the articles will be published as.

   1. In WordPress admin, open Users.
   2. Pick an account with the Author, Editor or Administrator role.
   3. Enter that account's username (not its email) here.

   Paste your Application Password

   A per-app password - your real WordPress password never leaves WordPress.

   1. Open your profile in WordPress admin. Use the same user you entered.
   2. Scroll to "Application Passwords".
   3. Name it "SearchBlueprint" and click "Add New Application Password".
   4. Copy the generated password (spaces are fine) and paste it here.

If it doesn’t connect

The checklist the connect form shows when a test fails. Check each one in order.

• Your site is a WordPress site and is publicly reachable.
• The REST API is not blocked by a security plugin (Wordfence, iThemes and similar can block it).
• The application password was created under the SAME user you entered.
• That user can publish posts (Author, Editor or Administrator).
