The setup guide, in full
Word for word what the connect form asks, in the order it asks. Nothing here wants your WordPress.com password — the credentials below are ones you create and can revoke.
- 1
What's your site address?
The address in your browser, e.g. yoursite.wordpress.com.
- 2
Approve it on WordPress.com
It lets us post to this one site, and nothing else.
- 1Sign in to WordPress.com as the owner of this site.
- 2Check the address bar starts with https://public-api.wordpress.com.
- 3Under Authorize access for, pick this site.
- 4Click Connect. WordPress.com sends you back here.
If it doesn’t connect
The checklist the connect form shows when a test fails. Check each one in order.
- The site is hosted on wordpress.com (if you self-host WordPress, use the WordPress card instead).
- The account you authorized owns, or can publish to, this site.
- The site address is the host itself, with no /wp-admin or trailing path.
- SearchBlueprint is still listed under WordPress.com -> Security -> Connected applications. Disconnect removes our access.
Ready to do it for real?
Open your website in SearchBlueprint, go to Publishing, and pick the WordPress.com tile. The form walks these same steps, and tests the credentials against WordPress.com before it stores anything.
