Type a domain in the box and the registrar row says Squarespace if Squarespace holds it. You also get the dates it was registered, last updated and due to expire, its age in years, its nameservers and its status codes. The data comes from the registry's RDAP record, which replaced the old WHOIS text, and domains at any registrar work.
Where a Squarespace domain is held and when it runs out
The registrar row tells you if the domain is held at Squarespace or somewhere else. That matters before you try to verify, renew or transfer it, because each of those happens at the registrar.
Names bought at Google Domains count too. Squarespace says it has moved every Google domain over, so a name first bought at Google now shows a Squarespace registrar.
The expiry date is the day the registration runs out unless it renews. The nameservers show which service runs the domain's DNS, which helps when a domain is registered at Squarespace but the site is hosted elsewhere, or the other way round.
Why you won't see the owner's name
The tool doesn't show owner names, emails or phone numbers for any domain. It shows the registrar, dates, nameservers and status. Squarespace also has a Whois Privacy setting for the domains it manages, which keeps the owner's contact details out of public records.
- If you own the domain, click it in your Squarespace domains list, then switch the Whois Privacy toggle on or off.
- Squarespace requires domain owners to keep their Whois records up to date, so check your contact details there as well.
