A hosting checker tells you which company runs the network a website answers from. Enter a domain and this tool looks up the site's IP address, then shows who that address belongs to under Hosted by, its network number (ASN), the reverse DNS name and the city and country it is registered to. It is free and needs no signup.
How to use the hosting checker
- 1Type the domain, such as example.com. A pasted URL works too.
- 2Press Check, or hit Enter.
- 3Read Hosted by first. The line under it is the network's ASN, such as AS13335 for Cloudflare.
- 4Read the three rows below: IP address, Reverse DNS and Location. A dash means no value came back.
- 5Press Copy link to this result to send the lookup to a colleague. The link runs it again when opened.
When to use it
- You want to know who hosts a competitor's site, or a site you admire, before you pick a host yourself.
- You are taking over a client's website and need to know which company runs the server it sits on.
- A site is copying your content and you need to know which company to send a takedown request to.
- You moved hosts and want to confirm the domain now answers from the new network.

We deploy this site through Vercel, yet the checker says Amazon. That is the honest answer to a narrower question: the address the domain resolves to sits on Amazon's network, AS16509. Platforms and CDNs often run on someone else's network, so Hosted by names the network owner, and you may need the DNS records to find the platform on top. Run it again later and the IP can differ, because the platform answers on several addresses.
What each row means
