Amazon product titles now have a limit of 75 characters. Paste your title above and cut words until the Amazon title row shows room left. Spaces count too. The rule started on July 27, 2026, so a title written to an older limit may now be too long.
Item Highlights hold 125 more characters
Amazon added Item Highlights for detail that no longer fits in the title, such as materials or recommended uses. The field holds 125 characters. It's searchable, and it shows with the title in search results and on the product page.
The counter has no row for 125. Paste a highlight on its own. It fits if Characters reads 125 or less.
Why some guides still say 200
Amazon's earlier rule capped titles at 200 characters in most categories. The new rule is much stricter. A counter or guide still set to 200 will pass a title that's now too long.
This counter only counts characters. It doesn't check Amazon's other title rules, such as the ban on characters like ! and ? unless they're part of the brand name, or the rule that a word can't appear more than twice.
Limits come from Amazon's announcements in the Seller Central forums, read in October 2026.
This character counter is free with no signup. SearchBlueprint, who make it, sell SEO planning for websites: which searches each page should answer.
