To see where a site ranks in Google in the UK, enter the domain and the keyword above and pick the UK as the market. The checker runs a live Google search in the UK and returns the best organic position in the top 100, plus the page that holds it. It's free and needs no signup.
How to check a UK ranking
- Enter the domain you want to check.
- Enter the keyword the way a UK searcher would type it.
- Pick the UK as the market. The checker covers 94 markets, so you can run the same keyword in another country to compare.
- Run the check. You get the best organic position in the top 100 and the page that holds it.
If several of your pages show for the keyword, the result is the highest one. Google's Search Console counts it the same way. A site that shows at positions 2, 4 and 6 is counted as position 2.
Check which page comes back. If it's a different page from the one you wrote for that keyword, Google prefers the other one for this search.
Why your own search shows a different position
Google uses where you are when it ranks results. It always estimates the general area you're searching from, and uses your current location to shape what it shows you. So a search from your desk in Leeds can put you higher or lower than a check run for the UK as a whole.
Search Console gives you a different number for a different reason. Its Performance report averages the topmost position of your site over every time you appeared, and you can group it by country. Its newest figures can still change over the next few hours. The checker shows one live search at one moment, so the two will rarely match exactly.
What the checker does not do
- It checks one domain and one keyword at a time.
- It checks the country as a whole, so it can't show the results for a single town or city.
- It reads the top 100 only. If the domain isn't there, the check won't find it and can't say how far down it sits.
- It doesn't save results or track a ranking over time. Run it again to see whether a position has moved.
The rules on how position is counted come from Google's Search Console Help, and the location rules from Google Search Help, both read in October 2026.
