To check FAQ schema, enter the page's URL above. You get a count of the JSON-LD blocks in the HTML, whether each one parses and the types each declares. If FAQPage is listed and its block parses, the markup is there. The check reads the page as it's served, which is what Google gets. Google stopped showing FAQ rich results on May 7, 2026, so a valid block no longer earns the dropdown.
How to check your FAQ markup
- Enter the full URL of the page that shows the questions and run the check.
- Look at how many JSON-LD blocks were found. If there are none, the markup isn't in the HTML the page serves, so check that your plugin or template is adding it.
- Check that each block parses. A block that fails usually has a stray comma, a missing bracket or straight quotes an editor turned curly.
- Find FAQPage in the types. If the block parses but declares a different type, such as WebPage or Article, the FAQ markup isn't there.
What the validator doesn't check
It confirms that a block parses and which types it declares. It doesn't open the block to check that each Question has an acceptedAnswer with text, or that the questions match the ones visible on the page. Read those by eye, or paste the block into the Schema Markup Validator at validator.schema.org.
Schema.org defines FAQPage as a web page presenting one or more frequently asked questions. Put each question in a Question, and put its answer in that Question's acceptedAnswer.
Google no longer shows FAQ rich results
Google deprecated the FAQ rich result in May 2026, and the feature stopped appearing in Google Search on May 7, 2026. FAQPage is still a schema.org type, so markup you already have can stay, and the validator still lists it. It won't change how the page looks in Google's results.
