Article schema is a block of JSON-LD that describes a post to search engines, and you can build it here without writing code. Choose Article, fill in what your post has, and the code builds as you type. Google lists no required properties for Article markup, so add the ones that fit your content. Any URL or date in the wrong format gets a note before you paste it in.
What Google asks of each property
- headline: the title of the article. Keep it short, because Google says long titles may be truncated on some devices.
- author: include every author named on the page, with each one in their own author field. Don't put two names in one field.
- image: use an image that belongs to the article, not a logo. Google recommends several high-resolution images of at least 50K pixels (width times height), in 16x9, 4x3 and 1x1 ratios.

Before you publish
The generator writes the markup and checks its formats. It doesn't read your live page, and it can't tell you whether Google will show a rich result. Once the page is live, run it through Google's Rich Results Test and fix any critical errors.
