What it does

You give SearchBlueprint a website. It works out what the business does, who it competes with, and which keywords it should be targeting, then audits the site against that and grades it A+ to F.

You do not need to know your keywords beforehand. Working them out is part of what the first run does.

How to run it

  1. Go to the start page and paste your domain. No account needed to begin.
  2. Confirm what the business does. We read your homepage and propose a description and a list of offerings. Correct anything wrong here, because everything downstream is built on it.
  3. Pick your market. Country and language. This decides which search results the keyword and competitor data comes from, so a Singapore business picking United States gets the wrong numbers throughout.
  4. Review your competitors. We find who actually ranks for the searches your business should win, which is often not who you think you compete with.
  5. Review your keywords. Confirm, remove, or add. These become the keyword map and drive the content plan.
  6. Create an account when prompted, and the audit runs.

The audit takes a few minutes. You can leave the page; the report is saved.

Reading the results

You land on a graded report: an overall score, four discipline scores, eight category scores, and a prioritised fix list. Start with Reading your report, which explains what to do with each part.

What to do next

  • Fix things. Work the recommendation list from the top.
  • Go deeper. The deep audits go past the checklist.
  • Write. The keyword map feeds article generation.
  • Share it. Client-facing sites can get a read-only report link with no login.
  • Track it. Add keywords to rank tracking and re-audit on a schedule.

Limits and cost

  • An audit crawls up to 200 pages.
  • Each audit consumes a usage credit.
  • The wizard is public up to the point the audit starts. The account is required exactly where the expensive work begins.

When it goes wrong

The business description is wrong. Correct it in step 2 rather than pressing on. It drives keyword selection, competitor discovery and every generated article.

No competitors, or absurd ones. Usually the market in step 3 is wrong, or the business description is too generic to search on.

The audit does not finish. See Audit failed, timed out, or came back empty.
